Nearly 11,000 people have expressed an interest in 1,500 jobs at a £250m holiday village being built in Bedfordshire.

Construction work has begun on the new Center Parcs resort at Warren Wood near Woburn and it is due to open in 2014.

The company has a variety of jobs on offer, including chefs, beauty therapists and grounds assistants.

The development will include 625 forest lodges, a 75-bedroom hotel, a swimming pool and a lake.

It will be Center Parcs' fifth UK resort.

The group has existing sites at Whinfell Forest in Cumbria, Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, Elveden Forest in Suffolk, and Longleat Forest in Wiltshire.
