Police seek three cycling suspects in Luton shooting

Detectives in Luton investigating the town's second shooting in five days are looking for three men who left the scene on bicycles.

A man in his early 20s, who was injured in the leg in the incident in Arrow Close on Sunday at 18:30 GMT, is recovering after hospital treatment.

Police said the three suspects left in the direction of Spinney Woods.

A woman was hurt in a shooting in Russell Street on Wednesday but the incidents are not thought to be linked.

Police said the town's gun crime had "reduced significantly" in the last year.

Det Insp Iain Morgan said: "We want this reduction to continue. Bedfordshire Police is using all resources available to thoroughly investigate this [latest] crime and believe this was not a random incident."

Three suspects

Two of the suspects in the latest incident are described as men in their late teens to early 20s.

One, who may have run with a slight limp, was wearing a baseball cap with a cream or white peak, a light blue hip-length hooded jacket and reflective strips down the sleeves.

Another wore a black hooded top and black clothing and was believed to be riding a mountain bike.

The third was a man in dark clothing and riding a white bike with black writing on the cross bar.

Officers have urged people who saw anyone matching these descriptions in the area to come forward.

A police spokesman said three men were arrested at the time of the incident.

Two have been released without charge and the third released on bail.
