Aylesbury murder inquiry: Crossbow bolt pair bailed

Two people arrested in connection with the murder of a man in Buckinghamshire have been released on bail.

Darrell Farnham, 44, was found dead on Sunday night at his home in Belgrave Road, Aylesbury. He was killed by a metal crossbow bolt.

A 40-year-old man from Aylesbury was arrested on suspicion of murder and a 37-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Both have been bailed until 28 June, Thames Valley Police said.

It was initially thought Mr Farnham died as a result of a gunshot wound, but a post-mortem examination revealed he had been shot with a crossbow.

Det Supt Chris Ward, of the major crime team, said: "We are still building a picture of the events that led to Darrell's death.

"We believe others could have been involved in this, and our detectives will continue to make their inquiries."

Officers remained at the scene, he said, but stressed the incident was believed to be "random and isolated".

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the killing.
