A police officer has denied a racially aggravated assault on an autistic man in Luton.

Bedfordshire PC Christopher Thomas, 33, of Welwyn Garden City, is said to have attacked Faruk Ali, 33, in Luton on 20 February.

He appeared at Aylesbury Crown Court earlier along with his colleague Christopher Pitts, 39, from Bedford.

Both men denied perverting the course of justice and two counts of misconduct in public office.

A trial date was fixed for 29 November.
