Man dies in hospital after M1 southbound crash

A man has died in hospital after a crash which closed the M1 southbound in Hertfordshire.

A Renault Clio and Vauxhall Astra crashed between Junctions Seven and Six, near Hemel Hempstead, at about 09:40 GMT on Sunday.

The man, who was in his 60s, died on Monday, police said, while a woman remains in a critical condition.

There were long delays for several hours after the crash, just before the exit slip road to the M25 junction.
