Reading licensing chiefs back 'bar ban'

Published
Licensing chiefs have backed plans to limit the number of pubs and clubs in a town centre.
Reading Borough Council wants to stop drink-fuelled anti-social behaviour from revellers as part of a policy move.
It would mean that a tougher stance would be taken on any new premisis applying for a licence, if councillors rubber-stamp plans in October.
Plans were put in place to encourge a broader range of nightlife in the town.
