A police search is under way in a Berkshire town for an 83-year-old man who went missing three days ago.

Leslie Frewen was last seen on Sunday when he left his home in Warfield Park, Bracknell, to go for a walk.

He has never gone missing before and his disappearance was described as "completely out of character".

Patrol officers and mounted police were searching Warfield Park, which contains hundreds of homes set in 88 acres of woods and parkland.

They began on Wednesday afternoon and said the search would continue on Thursday.

Has diabetes

Residents in the area have been asked to check their sheds, garages, outhouses and beneath mobile homes.

Mr Frewen was last sighted in The Elms, an area within Warfield Park, at about 1515 BST on Sunday.

He has cropped grey hair, wears glasses, and was last seen wearing navy trousers, a beige zipped jacked and black shoes.

Ch Insp Simon Bowden said: "Mr Frewen has never gone missing before, so his disappearance is completely out of character.

"Although he suffers with diabetes, he is otherwise described as a healthy man who enjoys his daily walks.

"Posters containing Mr Frewen's details and photograph have been distributed locally and officers are out in the community talking to people in a bid to try and locate him.

"Neighbouring police forces have also been informed as well as the national missing persons bureau."
