Two knifemen are being hunted by police after a pub landlord was stabbed during a raid in Berkshire.

The robbery happened at the Prince of Wales, in Tilehurst, near Reading, when the 48-year-old victim was locking up.

The men demanded the landlord open the safe but when he refused he was stabbed in the leg and slashed across the head.

The robbers made off with cash from the till, believed to be about £400, after the raid on Monday at about 0020 BST.

Det Con Jim Howden, from Reading CID, said: "The landlord has a deep wound on his left thigh and is clearly shaken by what happened.

"I would like to speak to anyone who has any information about the incident or who lives in the area and knows who the offenders might be."
