Warning over Newbury underpass muggings

Police have said they are keeping an open mind as to whether a spate of muggings in underpasses are linked.

Three men have been attacked in Newbury town centre over the past eight days and cash and belongings were stolen.

One was threatened with a knife in the underpass near Queens Road and another suffered head injuries after being attacked at the Robin Hood roundabout.

Thames Valley Police said a night-time operation had been launched in the town centre.

They are appealing for witnesses.
