'Hare-coursing' vehicle seized on Berkshire farm

A vehicle has been seized over reports of hare coursing at a Berkshire farm.

A gamekeeper told police he had seen two vehicles on private land in Manor Farm Lane, Brightwalton, Newbury, at 2220 BST on Tuesday.

Police then sent text alerts warning farmers in Pangbourne, Thatcham and Hungerford, before searching the area.

"One of the vehicles believed to be involved in illegal hunting was found in the Compton area and seized but no-one was arrested," a spokesman said.

Hare-coursing is illegal under the Poaching Prevention Act 1862 and Hunting Act 2004.
