Arrests over Wokingham taxi driver shooting

Four people have been arrested after a 40-year-old taxi driver was shot three times in a Berkshire suburb.

The man was injured in The Delph, in Lower Earley, Wokingham, on the night of 27 September. He is recovering well.

Three men, 29, 33 and 38, and a woman, 27, of Woodley, were held on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

The men, from Woodley, Lower Earley and Reading, were also held on suspicion of attempted murder, possessing a firearm, theft of motor vehicle and arson.

Det Insp Peter Dowling said: "I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw a metallic blue MG ZT 160 four-door saloon in the Reading area in the days leading up to the incident.

"This vehicle was stolen from Coventry on 23 September and was on false plates bearing the number AD53 TOJ."
