A man found dead near woodland in Berkshire more than two months after going missing died from natural causes.

Leslie Frewen, 83, was last seen on 15 August after leaving his home in Warfield Park, Bracknell, to go for his usual daily walk.

His family made a number of appeals, but his body was found in Forest Road, Winkfield Row, on Friday.

Tests showed he died naturally, but police admitted the circumstances surrounding his death were unclear.

A spokeswoman said it was not known how long his body, which was found off the usual path, had been in the woods.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Mr Frewen, a World War II veteran who served with the Grenadier Guards from 1945 to 1948, was married and had two daughters.

He also had four grandchildren.
