The death of a man whose body was found on a footpath in Reading is being treated as suspicious, police have said.
The man's body was found by a member of the public at about 0930 GMT on a footpath at View Island, Caversham.
Thames Valley police said they had not been able to identify the man but believe he is aged between his mid 20s and early 40s.
A post-mortem examination is likely to be carried out on Thursday.
Det Ch Insp Stan Gilmour, from the Thames Valley Police major crime team, who is leading the inquiry, said: "We are in the very early stages of our investigation, which is being treated as a suspicious death at this time.
"We are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry. We will also be carrying out house-to-house inquiries in the surrounding areas this evening and we will have officers speaking to people out walking their dogs in the area."
