Murder inquiry after body found on Reading path

A murder inquiry has begun and a man has been arrested after a body was found on a footpath in Reading.
The body was discovered by a member of the public at View Island, Caversham, on Wednesday morning.
Police said he was thought to be aged 33. They said his next of kin had been traced.
A 35-year-old man, from the Katesgrove area of Reading, was arrested in the early hours. A post-mortem examination is due to take place later.
Det Ch Insp Stan Gilmour, of Thames Valley Police, said: "We are still at a relatively early stage of the investigation and we still need to speak to any witnesses who have not already come forward as a matter of urgency."
