Three people were hurt when a car demolished part of a terraced house in Reading, Berkshire.

Fire crews had to release the driver of the car which had smashed into the property in South View Avenue, Caversham, on Saturday at 1245 GMT.

He was taken to Royal Berkshire Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

Two people, including a child, who had been in the house also sustained minor injuries.

One eyewitness said he had seen the car inside the house.

"The whole front of the house has gone," he said.

Police said two neighbouring properties had been evacuated following the incident and structural engineers had been called to inspect the damage.

The damaged house has been sealed off with metal screens.
