M4 motorway in Berkshire reopens after crash
The M4 motorway in Berkshire has been reopened after part of it was shut due to a crash in which a driver suffered serious head injuries.
The man was airlifted to Wexham Park Hospital following the collision shortly before 1500 GMT between junctions 7 and 8/9 for Maidenhead.
Police shut the eastbound carriageway and two westbound lanes. The motorway was reopened at about 2000 GMT.
Delays of up to an hour were reported and drivers were diverted.
Police said the road closure was needed while officers carried out an investigation.
