Two in hospital after Caversham house fire

Two people were taken to hospital by ambulance after a fire broke out in their Berkshire home.

Firefighters were called to the semi-detached house in the Ridgeway, Caversham, shortly after 1945 BST on Saturday.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the roof of the house was severely damaged in the blaze.

Crews from Reading's four fire stations attended with specialist vehicles from Tilehurst and Whitley Wood.

The fire was extinguished by 2200 BST.
