A man was attacked with a knife and struck with a baseball bat as he walked to shops in Berkshire.

The 49-year-old was at Harmanswater Parade, Bracknell, on Sunday night when four men approached.

One struck him with a baseball bat and another attacked him with a knife. When he fought back, they ran off towards Waylands Close.

The man suffered cuts to his arms and stomach, which required stitches, and a fractured cheekbone.

Det Con Ross Fleming said: "The victim was able to drive away from the scene and get himself home.

"He has subsequently been treated at hospital where he received several stitches."

Police said one of the offenders was a black man with dreadlocks. The other men were all Asian, one wearing a black padded jacket.
