Royal Ascot: More than 50 people arrested

More than 50 people were arrested during the five days of Royal Ascot - up from 10 arrests last year.

There were 22 arrests on Friday for offences including possessing class A drugs and being drunk and disorderly.

The fifth and final day of the event - which was attended by the Queen - took place on Saturday, where about 76,000 race-goers were expected.

Other figures released were 11 arrests on Wednesday, eight during Ladies' Day on Thursday and 11 on Saturday.

There were 80 arrests in 2009.
