A 64-year-old man charged with the murder of a teenager in Berkshire 45 years ago has appeared before Newbury magistrates for a committal hearing.

Yolande Waddington, 17, was found dead in the village of Beenham in October 1966.

David Burgess, formerly of Beenham, said he had no wish to be represented.

He will next appear at Reading Crown Court for a plea hearing on 5 December and will be remanded in custody until this date.
