Slough man's unexplained death to be investigated

An investigation is under way into the unexplained death of a man in Berkshire.

The 34-year-old man, of no fixed address, was found unwell behind some shops in Slough on Monday, and was pronounced dead in hospital.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) was called in as he had been arrested the day before for being drunk and kept in police custody.

His next-of-kin have been informed and a post-mortem test will be held later.

Police said the IPCC investigation was "a matter of course". The man had been released without charge on the day of his arrest.
