Police are continuing to question a man on suspicion of murdering a woman found dead in a field in Berkshire.

The body of the woman, believed by officers to be Krishnamaya Mabo, was found in Arborfield on Monday.

She was reported missing in the early hours of Monday morning. The 39-year-old Nepalese national is yet to be formally identified.

A 30-year-old man remains in police custody having been arrested in connection with the investigation.

The body was found off Robin Hood Copse, between Castle Hill and Eversley Road, at about 13:00 BST.

An extensive search of the area involved police dog units and the police helicopter.

Det Ch Insp Gill Wootton said: "We are providing support to Krishnamaya's family at this extremely distressing time and keeping them fully informed on the progress of our investigation.

"A Home Office forensic pathologist attended the scene yesterday and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out later.

"We are now working to establish Krishnamaya's movements on Sunday evening."

Police want anyone who was walking in fields or woodland between Castle Hill and Eversley Road on Sunday afternoon or evening to come contact them.
