Nine fire crews battle Great Shefford thatched cottage blaze

Crews from nine fire engines helped tackle a blaze at a thatched cottage on Friday evening.

The A338 was shut due to the fire in Great Shefford causing delays between Newbury Road and The Mead but has since reopened.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service tweeted that two water carriers were also at the scene.

Crews from Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire fought the fire, which broke out at 18:44 GMT. No-one was injured.
