Published

A woman is in a critical condition after being struck by a lorry on the M42 in the West Midlands.

Motorists faced delays as the northbound motorway closed for nearly four hours, between junction four, Dorridge, and junction five, Solihull.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said the incident took place at 0630 BST but it was not clear exactly how it happened.

Two lorries blocked off the motorway so paramedics could treat the woman.

She was taken to hospital with multiple serious injuries.
