Man found with head injuries in Birmingham dies

A man is under arrest on suspicion of murder after a 57-year-old was found with head injuries in Birmingham.

Officers and paramedics were called to a property in Abdon Avenue, Weoley Castle, at about 0100 BST on Sunday.

The 57-year-old man went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers have been searching for evidence at the scene and talking to neighbours. Detectives were questioning a 34-year-old man.

A police spokeswoman said the victim's name was not being released at this stage and a post-mortem examination was due to take place.
