Cremation ashes stolen by mugger in Birmingham
A mugger has stolen a handbag containing the ashes of the victim's father in Birmingham.
The victim, a 40-year-old woman from the city, was waiting at a bus stop in Taylor Road in the Kings Heath area.
Officers believe the thief, who was riding a bicycle, may be unaware of the sentimental value of the ashes, which were held in a clear tube.
The offender, a white man thought to be aged in his late teens, struck shortly before 1500 BST on 3 September.
Det Con Lee Reeday, from Bournville police station, said: "Understandably, the victim is devastated at the loss of her father's ashes and therefore I would urge anyone with any information to please come forward."
