Third man in court over Birmingham shopkeeper's death

A third person has appeared in court accused of the murder of a Birmingham shopkeeper.

Suppiah Tharmaseelen, 48, was stabbed to death at the Select Convenience Store, in College Road, Kingstanding, on Saturday evening.

Liam Ryan, 18, from Gretton Road in Erdington, is also charged with robbery and assault and appeared at Sutton Magistrates' Court on Friday.

He was remanded in custody to reappear on 7 December.

Twin brothers from Birmingham have also been remanded in custody charged with the murder of Mr Tharmaseelen.

Ian Meenan, from Kingstanding, appeared at the same court on Thursday and was remanded to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on Monday.

John Meenan, 26, of Camberley Grove, Erdington, was remanded until 4 March.
