Two rescued from flat fire above Solihull restaurant
Two men have been rescued from a "severe" flat fire above a restaurant in Solihull.
Fire crews were called to Jimmy Spices in Station Road at about 2115 GMT on Monday.
Restaurant staff managed to rescue one man and firefighters rescued a second, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.
The latter was treated for the effects of breathing in smoke and was only partially conscious. Neither man had life threatening injuries, it added.
Thirty firefighters continued to tackle the fire, which was put out after three hours and an investigation has been started into the cause, West Midlands Fire Service said.
