Birmingham Airport said people should check its website
Birmingham City Council's deputy leader has praised staff for managing to keep the city's roads passable in the icy weather.
Liberal Democrat councillor Paul Tilsley said the council had been gritting 750 miles of road each day.
He said while Heathrow Airport had been shut, many flights had been leaving from Birmingham in spite of the snow.
"I think Birmingham can hold its head up high to the service we have been able to provide," he added.
Birmingham Airport has urged passengers to check its website before setting out for a scheduled flight.
