A Birmingham textile factory building affected by fire has been demolished.

About 60 firefighters were called to Stratford Road in the Sparkbrook area on Wednesday.

Nobody was injured, but up to 40 firms were unable to open as a result of disruption over the fire, which started at about 1015 GMT.

Demolition work finished at 0035 GMT on Thursday and Stratford Road reopened at about 0130 GMT. The cause of the fire is being investigated.

Crews were returning to the scene at two-hour intervals.
