Wollaston brothers hurt in robbery at home
Two brothers have been seriously injured during an attempted robbery at their West Midlands home.
A 56-year-old man is in hospital with a head injury. His 70-year-old brother also suffered a head wound during the attack in Wollaston.
Police said three men broke into their house in Francis Road on Thursday evening and assaulted them, while demanding money.
All the men were armed with either a baseball bat or a plank of wood.
Police said the 56-year-old remains in stable condition in hospital.
Det Sgt Mick Greenland said it was a "violent and unnecessary" attack.
"No money was taken during the incident, despite the offenders repeatedly demanding cash off the victims."
A dark car is thought to have been used by the men to get to the address.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
