Man held after Sedgeley Hope Baptist Chapel break-in
A teenager has been arrested over a theft from a Baptist church in the West Midlands.
A memorial plaque, silver communion chalices and metal piping were stolen from Hope Baptist Chapel in Sedgley on Sunday.
All of the items were recovered and a 19-year-old was arrested at about 2300 BST in connection with the break-in.
West Midlands Police Sgt Rob Simpson said: "To steal from a church is a despicable crime."
He added: "Officers continue to tackle offenders suspected of such offences, especially where metal has been stolen, due to the cost and disruption this can cause."
