Two gold bars and jewels taken from Great Barr home
Thieves have stolen thousands of pounds worth of jewellery and two bars of gold from a house in Birmingham.
It is thought three men broke into the house on Thornbridge Avenue in Great Barr on Tuesday afternoon and stole two gold ingots, each worth about £1,000.
The jewellery stolen includes a gold ring with a red heart-shaped gem and two wristwatches, police said.
Local jewellers have been alerted about the items and anyone with information should contact police.
One man is described as white, under 50 years of age and 6ft tall and wearing a black sleeveless vest and blue T-shirt, the police spokesman added.
The other two men are described as white, under 40 years of age and wearing casual clothing.
Det Con Kuli Sikham, from Birmingham CID, said: "We are working with local jewellers to share information in the hope they will alert us to any suspicious items offered for sale."
