West Bromwich Co-op bank armed robbery: Six arrests made

Six men have been arrested after an armed robbery at a West Midlands bank.

Two men armed with baseball bats walked into the Co-operative Bank on West Bromwich High Street at about 09:25 GMT.

They threatened the cashiers and forced them to hand over cash before escaping in a waiting car. No-one was hurt.

The car was spotted nearby in Florence Road and a firearms officer from West Midlands Police shot at the tyres. All of the occupants were arrested.

Two other men have been arrested in London as part of the same inquiry.
