Henry McMurtary, 85, named as Pendeford car crash victim

An 85-year-old man who died after being hit by a car in Wolverhampton has been identified by police.

Henry McMurtary was struck in Emsworth Crescent, near the junction with Blaydon Road, Pendeford, on the evening of 7 February.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries but died the next morning.

Police said they had spoken to the 27-year-old female driver of the silver Vauxhall Astra which hit Mr McMurtary, but she has not been arrested.

They urged any witnesses to contact them.
