Birmingham taxi stabbing: man remanded in custody

A man accused of murdering a woman who was stabbed to death in a taxi in Birmingham has been remanded in custody until October.

Junior Saleem Oakes, of Dimsdale Road, Northfield, is charged with the murder of Natasha Trevis.

Mr Oakes, 28, appeared before Birmingham Crown Court.

Mother-of-three Miss Trevis, 22, from the Weoley Castle area, died at the scene of the stabbing in Northfield last Tuesday.

She had two young daughters and a son.

Mr Oakes is due to appear in court for a plea hearing on 29 October. His trial is expected to start in January.
