Ben Morutare death: Teenager charged with violent disorder

A teenager has been charged in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Ben Morutare in Smethwick.

The 18-year-old, from West Bromwich, was charged with violent disorder on Monday and has been released on bail.

He is due to appear before Warley Magistrates Court next month, West Midlands Police said.

Ben died after being stabbed in the leg outside the Home Guard & Old Comrades Club on Oldbury Road, Smethwick, on Saturday 28 July.

Two people have been charged with murder and four other people with violent disorder.

Police said investigations are continuing to identify other people they want to speak to as part of the inquiry.
