Trespasser causes Birmingham New Street station delays
A trespasser in the tunnels outside Birmingham New Street station has caused long delays and cancellations to train services.
Network Rail said the majority of delays, affecting all routes through the station, lasted until about 09:30 BST.
Many services were delayed by up to an hour, while others were cancelled.
National Express West Midlands and Midland Metro were accepting train tickets "via any reasonable route".
A Network Rail spokesman said the problem occurred when a "male trespasser ran off the end of a platform and into one of the tunnels".
Police officers were called to the railway station at about 06:30, British Transport Police said.
The man was later moved from the station.
