Mohamoud Elmi denies Ward End mosque police knife attack

A man has denied attempting to murder a police officer in a knife attack at a mosque in Birmingham.

Mohamoud Elmi is also accused of wounding and attempting to murder two worshippers at the mosque on Washwood Heath Road in Ward End on 15 June.

The 32-year-old from Ward End Hall Grove, Birmingham pleaded not guilty to all charges at the city's crown court.

He was remanded back to a secure psychiatric unit and will stand trial on 29 January.
