Channel 4 dog-fighting documentary prompts arrest

A man has been arrested on suspicion of arranging dog fights based on information obtained after a TV documentary was aired, police said.

RSPCA inspectors and police executed a warrant in Handsworth, Birmingham, at 07:00 GMT after a joint investigation.

The 44-year-old from Handsworth, Birmingham, was interviewed and bailed.

West Midlands Police said the arrest "came directly off the back" of information it received after Channel 4 broadcast Going to the Dogs this year.

The documentary, by filmmaker Penny Woolcock, first aired in June.
