A fire at a garage that saw nearby restaurants and a cinema evacuated is the second one in the past seven days, police said.

Thirty firefighters went to Kenyons in Wednesfield, near Bentley Bridge Retail Park, at 20:00 GMT on Sunday.

Acetylene cylinders inside prompted a 200m (219 yds) cordon being set up. People were allowed back at 22:00 GMT.

Police said the fire was suspicious and possibly linked to an attempted fire there last Sunday.

Offenders attempted to set fire to the garage but it failed to ignite, police said.

Det Con Andrew Higgins, said: "We are working with the fire service to determine the cause of the fire, which we believe was started deliberately, and to identify those responsible.

"Significant damage has been caused to the business premises and the fire also led to major disruption to the bars, restaurants, cinema and other entertainment venues at Bentley Bridge.

"We urge anyone with information to contact us as soon as possible to assist our investigation."
