Brother and sister charged with terror offences in Birmingham

A brother and sister have been charged with terrorism related offences including distributing an ISIS execution video.

Ummariyat Mirza and Zainub Mirza from Birmingham were arrested last week on suspicion of preparing for terrorist acts.

They have been charged with a range of offences and will appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on Thursday.

The arrests were not linked to the recent attack in Westminster.

Ummariyat Mirza , 21 from St Agathas Road, is charged with three counts including buying a knife with the intention of using it to carry out a terrorist act and possessing two documents, the Anarchist Cookbook and the Mujahideen Poisons handbook.

Zainub Mirza, 23 from Eastfield Road, Bordesley Green is charged with five counts of sending links to ISIS beheading and execution videos and other terrorist images.
