Former Birmingham PC admits child abuse image charges
A former policeman has admitted making indecent images of children as young as two.
PC James Duffield, 34, pleaded guilty to making 72 category A images of a child between December 2013 and August 2017.
At Birmingham Magistrates' Court, he also admitted possessing 27 category B and seven category C images.
Duffield, of Warwick Road, Solihull, will be sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on 10 January.
He was granted bail on condition that he does not have unsupervised contact or undertake any work with a child under the age of 18.
It follows his dismissal without notice by West Midlands Police on 21 November.
An NSPCC spokesman said the images that Duffield possessed would have helped to "fuel" an industry which "feeds off children's suffering".
