Birmingham factory blast: Tributes to Aaron Johnston

A man who died in an industrial blast at a metal plant has been named as Aaron Johnston.

The 39-year-old father from Sutton Coldfield died after a cooling pipe burst at Timet UK, Witton Industrial Estate, Birmingham in the early hours of 12 December.

West Midlands Police said the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is supporting it with its inquiry.

Mr Johnston was described by his family as "loyal" and "loving".

In a family statement released by police, they said: "Aaron was a devoted husband, loving father and a loyal son and brother.

"Aaron was greatly loved by everyone he knew and will be deeply missed by many."

They also thanked people for their "overwhelming support and comfort".
