Man cut during knifepoint burglary in Dudley

A man has been attacked with a knife by burglars during a raid at his home in Dudley, West Midlands.

A gang of men broke into his flat while he and his partner were asleep at about 0330 BST on Wednesday.

They demanded money from the couple while threatening them and attacked the man, West Midlands Police said.

The burglars were able to escape with some cash, a handbag and car keys. The man, in his 20s, is being treated in hospital for cuts to his arms and legs.

'Frightening ordeal'

Det Con Carl Abbott said: "This couple were obviously very shaken and distressed by what happened.

"It was a frightening ordeal for them, to be woken to find a group of unknown men inside their home.

"Thankfully the victim's injuries were not too serious and he is now recovering."
