Three men have been charged with murdering a man who died six weeks after an attack in the West Midlands.

Vijay Thaper, 61, suffered injuries to his legs outside his home in Stoney Lane, Bloxwich, on 13 January.

Sarenjeet Lotey, 21 and Sandeep Lotey, 23, both from Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, and Pritpal Panesar, 20, of Handsworth, Birmingham, appeared before Walsall Magistrates.

They were remanded in custody to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

The three are expected to appear at the crown court on 10 November.

Mr Thaper became ill weeks after the incident outside his home and was admitted to hospital where he died on 8 March.

A post-mortem examination showed he died from a pulmonary thrombosis, as a result of the injuries he sustained in January, a spokesman for West Midlands Police said.
