M6 drivers delayed by lorry shedding concrete load

  • Published

Motorists faced long delays on the M6 in the West Midlands after a lorry shed its load of concrete rings.

The incident closed part of the southbound motorway between junction eight and junction nine, near Wednesbury, during evening rush hour.

Some drivers were delayed by about two hours and traffic was backed up to junction 11a in Staffordshire.

All lanes reopened after specialist recovery teams removed the load and problems gradually eased.
