Bradford takeaways in open hours crackdown

Published
A crackdown on takeaways trading beyond their licensing hours has begun in Bradford.
Council officers will be carrying out inspections over the coming weeks to make sure businesses do not flout rules by opening for too long.
It comes after one takeaway owner in the city was fined for trading beyond hours permitted on his licence.
If takeaways wish to stay open any time between 2300 BST and 0500 BST they need a licence, Bradford council said.
Councillor Ian Greenwood, leader of the authority, said: "If they are caught trading beyond the hours of the licence, they will be prosecuted and fined."
