Man found injured in Huddersfield alleyway dies

A man who was found with head injuries in an alleyway in Huddersfield has died in hospital.

John Burrows, 59, of Buxton House, New Street, was found in the town centre in the early hours of Monday and taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

A post-mortem examination has confirmed he died of head injuries.

CCTV showed Mr Burrows staggering down the alleyway at about 0045 BST. Police said they were keeping an open mind about the cause of his injuries.

Inquiries are continuing and witnesses have been urged to come forward.
