Pedestrian killed in Huddersfield collision

A 23-year-old man has died after being hit by a car in West Yorkshire.

The incident happened on Almondbury Bank, Huddersfield, on Saturday at 0234 BST.

Police said the driver of the Vauxhall Corsa involved, a 21-year-old Huddersfield man, was arrested on suspicion of driving while over the alcohol limit.

He is currently on bail pending further enquiries. Two other men in the Corsa suffered minor injuries.

The pedestrian is believed to have been walking in the road at the time of the incident.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
